Tales You Can’t Unread Series
About S.M. Drought
Introduced to horror at the ripe old age of 6 or 7 (my uncle told me he was putting on a “kids movie” for me and proceeded to play 80’s bodyhorror/slasher ‘Basketcase’), I developed a love for the genre which quickly extended to spooky novels penned by the likes of R.L. Stine, Christopher Pike and Stephen King.
Many, many years later, I’m now a father myself to two horror-loving little monsters, whom I introduced to the macabre tales of my childhood, only to discover that they find these tales… “lame” or “cringe”. Can you believe the audacity of these kids? Calling the likes of Stine “cringe”.
Not to be perturbed, I took it upon myself to create a series of stories for youth that would not be easily dismissed as “lame”; stories designed for a generation who have been desensitised by the latest horror flicks now being available at the click of a button; stories that will leave even the most hardened of young horror fans second-guessing whether they really need to get up in the dark to pee or whether they can just hold on until the safety of morning.
Hence ‘TALES YOU CAN’T UNREAD’ came to be.A series of horror stories carefully crafted for this generation of horror lovers.
Deliciously dark, brutally bloody and utterly unyielding… not to mention splattered with a distinct Kiwi flavour… ‘TALES YOU CAN’T UNREAD’ is a horror series NOT for the faint of heart, but for true horror aficionados.
